The Mrs and I are booked in at Premier Inn, Media City, Salford Quays. Can't say how decent it will be or not but the deal we got was quite good.

Does anyone remember a posting on a different thread in the forum about a young lad who had his kit confiscated? we should invite him.

Failing that what are the decent gig venues in the Manc area?
Or does anyone have a gig in the Lancashire area on the Saturday, imagine loads of us watching

BTW I'm bringing my bass player to help. Sorry.

I'll be getting a hotel with the missus, probably going to find a band to watch on the Saturday night if no beer type shennanigans get organised on here.
Depending where I find a band to watch will dictate which hotel I book.

From what I understand from Rick Prince, load in will be in batches relating to one's number with lower numbers in first. No groups of people will be given preferential treatment.

Ben, possible car share? I'm near you and will be going on the morning, not staying overnight on Sat, but will leave early enough to make any Dolbear mass admission time, if arranged. If you fancy this, let me know.

How bigs your car?. 'cos my focus has trouble with just mine, stupid folding seat, lumpy boot, odd angle boot etc. Im more than willing to double up.
Whoever doesnt drive pays for petrol? sound fair?. It might be posible for me to wangle a van for the day, but thats not a deffinate.

Volvo XC90, pretty big with seats down, I think it would probably fit 2 kits in even with your 4 toms as I've only got 2.

Ooh the fellas got class , would a sweaty 31 yr old with long hair and a beard be allowed in? . Im still thinking about the van option for us both, im doing some favour call-ins.

Marty, you are a gent. Thank you for the offer but I can't go down on the Friday. I'm still trying to decide between the BD/FT/SN/HH/CR easy set-up, or the full feckin bhoona with all the toms, pies and frame for some hot drum porn action.

Anyway, I wouldn't want to cramp your style in the Lurve Mobile on the way down. You never know when the mood may take hold! ;-)
martydrums Posted - 28/04/2012 : 14:51:02
^ Glad you can make it Unc. I will be going from Embra but thing is Mrs Martydrums has decided to come along too. We are going to make a wee holiday of the weekend and are traveling down on Friday 13th (oooooh). I might have just managed 3 peeps and 2 kits as I will be bringing the jungle kit but then you would need to travel down on the Friday too.
Unkle Kev Posted - 28/04/2012 : 09:14:06
Ya beauty! No. 335 checking in for duty sah!

I missed the last one, was gutted. Please count me in on any Dolbearian shenanigans and early load in.

I'm travelling down from Sconny Botland, anyone else making the trip sarf? My puny Seat Leon ain't got room for two kits, but if someone else has a larger brief I'll split the fuel with them. If there is a get together on the Saturday night I'll be willing to stay over and make the usual fool of myself! :-)

Just a warning, it's posible I might have my new Highwood by the time, if this happens, I'll have to drive up 'cos the full kit is a bit large. (4 toms, 20x20 bass, rack, 3xcrashes etc etc) I'd have to take it all just to show off !!

I'm registering me and Jamie later in the week, even the Mrs wants to come down and watch (up to now) so my car will be be full. Let me know which hotel you are booking again and i'll try and join you.

I've managed to rope in the missus, she mentioned going to the Trafford Centre shopping while the rest of us bore ourselves stupid with drums

I may ask the missus as well, specially if it's going to be a curry rather than a knees up

Last time they gave us a time to come and set up (around 8am IIRC ) and we had a large space at the front but we were just about the first there.

It's next to the Trafford Centre so I imagine there will be plenty of choice.
