Just read through a fascinating thread about Reno drums, which had a link to an article about the Manchester scene, and I came over all nostalgic: I bought my first bass drum from Kitchens of Leeds in 1965ish, and remeber bringing it home on the top deck of a Sammy Ledgards bus...I so wish I had kept all of the stuff from then.
Anyone else use them, or has any information/old pics/articles etc?

cheers in advance

John

Nay worries. Northern Drum Centre is well worth a visit too if you haven't been.

cheers...I knew The NDC when Ian started it off in Leeds back in the early 80s: I had a Luddy 400 from him....only £200 at the time, but I could never get it to sound right, so I got rid.Always had better service and deals from good old Steve, who now runs Beat It in Baildon...look him up if you're over that way: he dabbles in vintage stuff, and he's a great bloke to boot: tell him pronta John sent you

Yepper Steve at Beat It Music, another good guy, if you go to his website, check the vintage stuff, you'll see a little notation about CJ and Bob Pengilly

Also, Steve at Galaxy Music in the same area, mates with the other Steve.

You know, come to think of it, I know more drum shops in the UK then here in the States, hmmmmm.
