I do and the contents are always increasing. I carry basic tools and a soldering iron, along with various spares.
I even carry plectrums and a spare guitar strap just in case.  |

Basic tool kit plus some more unusual spares, set of electric strings set of acoustic strings, set of bass strings, small drill, strap pins. Wallet always has some plecs in! |

Since I have just an acoustic kit, all I carry is spare sticks and a couple of tuning keys. Sometimes take a spare snare drum, and spare snare batter head - if I've got one, which I don't at the moment. Tools? Only if I happen to be carrying my Swiss army knife! |

Not so much now, but when playing 5 nights a week everything that Prog garried, + spare amphead which either guitar or bass could use as they did on occassion, serves em right for buying Marshall rubbish!
Now as all our PA consists of powered speaakers, we can utilise a monitor if their amp dies.
If they forget lears, then they do without |

Why don't you just carry spare leads? We carry our own specialist ones e.g. I carry ones that are perfect length to run from my different mics down to the multicore that goes at the side of my bass drum, the singer has a teeny-weeny XLR to join two effects units without trailing wires, etc.
But other than that we just have communal boxes of XLR's / jacks / 4-gangs - far more than we'll ever need. If one breaks, why feck about at a gig trying to repair it? Just grab a new one! |

Fortunately our bass player is an electronics man and he carries soldering iron etc,etc. Me, I take a multi screwdriver thingy and a roll of gaffa. |

Owning and acquiring (read hoarding) stuff is all part of the game innit - well to those in the same "club" as me.... of which I can suss out a few in here
Talking of backing your band up - has anyone ever had their guitarist turn up having forgotten their amp ?  Yes, this did happen in a previous band ! Though I would struggle to fit a Marshall in my toolbox I have to admit. |

My tool kit fits in one bag. It's a laptop bag with loads of compartments which is ideal.
I don't understand your comment about setup/tear down. The tool kit doesn't go on stage unless there's a problem. |

I carry one with a drum keys.a spare hi hat clutch, spare bass drum spring, felts, matches (for a very specific reason, no i don't smoke), lubricant, cymbal washes, multi tool, spanners, pliers etc etc..
the amount of times somebody in the band is asking for use of it! |

No. No I don't.
I can't believe you all carry this amount of gear around with you to every gig! Surely you want to travel as light as possible so as not to spend ages lugging loads of gear around and taking ages on the setup/tear down. I have a tool kit, and a selection of spare parts, but I don't have them at every gig. I carry Duct tape, a penknife and a couple of drum keys. not had a situation so far that I can't handle.
Admittedly I have occasionally had to beg/borrow from the support/headline band, and I definitely carry more gear since I bought the car. |

I carry everything too but i own a DJ company si i always have a van full of PA and repair equipment
I think when i gig i will end up using my van all the time anyway but through past experiences you can never have to much so i would have a toolbox with me |

Way back, when I was playing regularly, I carried everything including a 6.5 KW generator. The bass player and myself had the PA system, he owned the amps and I owned the 4 bass reflex Altec speaker cabinets with Altec 811B horns. So all the tools needed were packed in a flight case and loaded onto the 44 foot air ride van with the speaker system and my drums. We had a small workbench fastened to the walls and floor of the trailer in case of any needed repairs
You could do light welding with the Genset |

I always carried a soldering iron with electric bands, try my trick: when his/her lead needs repairing watch the expression of total devastation when first out comes the soldering iron then: "Sh*t, I forgot the solder". |

Given the choice I'd carry soldering iron, spare jacks/leads/pots/switches/felts/wingnuts, possibly an arc welder, and maybe a roadie rolled up in the glovebox. Sadly I seem doomed to never being able to drive however and must rely on others which limits my options. :-( |

Yes, I have a toolbox. Several DI boxes, battery and cable testers, various XLR and jack adaptors, few spare patch cables (DMX, XLR and jack), couple of multitools, spare batteries, spare music stand lamp bulbs, sundry mic thread adapters, insulating tape, handheld fusion reactor. |
