Any Dolberians playing or attending next week (20th/21st/22nd July?) I see that King King are on the bill - is Craig Blundell still with them? Also The Producers feat. Ash Soan, and many many more. Looks like being a classic year - and its all FREE! (The Cohen Bros are at The White Lion on Sunday afternoon - 3.00ish I should think. Come and say hello). Start praying for a break in the weather or we will all be playing in diving suits.

I'm starting putting top draw Blues bands under the club name 'Shades of Blues' again at the Maltings Arts theatre in St Albans in the Autumn - - - King King have been booked already for 2013 as part of their tour promoting their second CD due in the spring 2013 - I for one can't wait - - -and it's Wayne Procter on the drumstool - really good Blues Rock drummer previously with Ian Parker.
Oh and i've just found out that The Nimmo Brothers are playing the St Albans Beer festival Saturday 29th September - - -Aaaaaargh about 350 real ales, 100 + perries & ciders, international Beer bar & The Nimmos too ? ! I can feel the hangover now - - -

I spoke to Craig about King King and the Nimmo Brothers a wee while back. Unfortunately he is just waaaay too busy to fit their gigs in any more. Don't let this put anyone off seeing either incarnation of Alan Nimmo. Have seen both bands without Craig over the last year or so and they were superb! Alan Nimmo is a brilliant singer/guitarist/front man and the rest of King King are great too. Very well worth going to see.

Bloody hopless programme info from the organisers. I only found out it wasn't "The Producers" I was expecting by watching a long video presentation and then googling for more info. Anyway, some great bands played, the sun shone and a good time was had by all. Thanks for the responses.

Hi David, it wasn't the Producers I play in as I'm sure you've guessed by now. I have a gig on Thursday at The Halfmoon Putney with Trevor Horn. It's a warm up for some Japanese shows we are playing next week. The next Producers shows are the 1st and 2nd of September where we are playing Jamie Oliver and Alex James's festival.

Best,

Ash

Small world Zimmo - our singer, Abby Brant, used to sing with The Big Blues Tribe (they are now defunct) and still sings with an offshoot called Mumbo Jumbo, who are also playing this year. There are some sophisticated new flood defences in place. Lets hope we don't need to find out how effective they are!

I was due to play there a few years back, as a dep with a band called the Big Blues Tribe.
The weather had been terrible for weeks (hard to imagine!) but I made the trip up from Bristol on Saturday afternoon. Driving into Upton on Severn, the road in was way above the surrounding fields which were already flooded. Hung around for a bit, nobody else could get there from Brum, Leicester etc and I drove back home!

By the time I got home, Upton was on the news and the road I'd driven in/out on was under about 2 feet of water.

Happy days.....

Hi Gary - all three days! We did two last year, including 4.5 hours at the White Lion - nearly killed me! I hope you've been in training for it. See you there.
