This is a very long shot. I sold a bass a number of years ago to a female bassist who played in a band, midlands area - I think. This is the bass: http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg502/scaled.php?server=502&filename=jacksonc.jpg&res=landing

It's a red Jackson concert pro V, with EMG pickups.

Since most of you are drummers, you might have even played with or know the current owner. But its a very long shot! And there aren't too many of these around the UK, especially with EMG's inside it.

Maybe it's the Kim Deal effect and the kind of music I like/play but I always thought female bassists were more common than drummers/guitarists.

Love is a very fragile thing, she moved on (the bass, that is) and so must you. There will be another out there just waiting for you.

I once tried out for a band with a female bassist many moons ago, but I don't recall what she was playing and wouldn't know how to get in touch. Not seen many others around, almost as rare as female drummers!

True I will find another without a doubt. I guess its the time I'd spent on this one, dressed the frets, changed the pickups, set it up to absolute perfection. And like you said, if I did track it down, most likely it wouldn't be in the shape I sold it.

Connor, ol' maaaaate!! you'll get another one. I have had the same feeling with drum kits I had, NEW, then sold!!(wish I feckin' had'nt) sold a 1968 Prem kit in 1971. I bought it new. I tracked it down in 2010, guy still had it!! but geeeeezebeeze it was very average !! I bought another, the same colour and heaps better cond!! I'm happy and so is "nostalgia" . Good luck.

Yeah, the amount of stuff I've sold when I'm skint and regretted since.

Still if you need to eat and pay the rent then needs must!

Is it me or is it like, you sell things and then you think OMFG why on earth did I just sell that? I loved it...
