In black Sparkle, Aluminium tube lugs. 22/16/12, Birch shells. Snare is a maple with 6 vintage nickel lugs single flanged hoops.

Stills needs the panda percussion logo and a good tune, but sounding nice already.

Ah, the ali lug kit you were talking about months ago finally up for inspection! Yup, looks very tidy, nice "stripped to the bone" look. But more important than looks: light and easy to schlepp around.

Very cool, and a return to 'normal' dimensions for Panda Percussion. Where, pray, did you find your drum wrap?

The drum wrap was from animal custom drums, found out drumbitzeurope. It's a very subtle black sparkle, it looks like black gloss but when the light hits it makes a lovely sparkle.

Cheap too, around £30 is a sheet.

Ah, I wondered if it was from Drumbitzeurope.com
I used the silver for a kit a while back. I don't think that black was available then. It looks great .

Shame the photos are a bit dark to capture the sparkle but it looks great Monkey! I see the mounts for the lugs have evolved a bit. Really nice, simple, tasteful build and setup. Reminds me a lot of that Roberto Spizzichino kit!

Wow, thanks, that's one of the nicest kits ever, so cheers for the compliment. I'll get some better pictures once the Panda Percussion bass drum vinyl arrives. The sparkle is subtle, more sparkle than the cheaper green, purple, red sparkles that were available, but less so than a proper delmar sparkle. Still, I wanted understated (not Liberace) so I actually quite like it.

The lugs have evolved a little, main addition has been rubber gaskets and more of a riser, decreasingly the length of the vertical aluminium tube, giving them a slightly more stable look.

I had meant this kit to look vintage, but it's got far more of a utilitarian modern look, which is growing on me.

Oh, and it sounds great the Carerra shells are really really good. Every bit as high quality as keller!

They really are damned good. I've been using a few keller shells recently and the QC is just as good.

Also really well priced.

Still trying to tune the 12" tom perfectly, bass and floor sing.

Will get the snare finished at some point, debating lugs/wrap/options.

Captain Bubble: Mike really liked making them & is pleased they are still hitting the spot.

monkeythedrummer: Will be great to hear her when your happy to record a video and let us gawp and drool at your work

We have forwarded new news reagarding shells to Sir Peake, out of courtesy & not to use this free service as advertsing, but I can say that the current empty catergories on our web store -> drum shell section, will be being filled up over the coming weeks & I hope you guys approve
