Great read - loving the Style Council ad.

I had a rising sun kit, and my first ever brand new kit was an Export in a very dark purple - cant remember the name.

WANTED: ANY GRETSCH RENOWN DRUMS/KITS IN SILVER OYSTER PEARL.

I borrowed from load sharks in Dublin to get my first ever brand spanking new kit........a black Export kit.
Loved it, and to this day I still use the boom stand that came with it. They were great at the time. The hardware was fantastic.

I used to lust after the Ecport. all I could afford at the time was a second hand Kestrel.

Mid life crisis kicked in, drum kit bought. It's not quite like cycling though, you forget. A lot!
