Greetings! I am in search for a pair of high quality 12" hi hats, preferably zildjian, that someone is willing to sell. Also, does anyone have any decent things to say about them, or had experiences with them? Cheers! |

Sweet! I would be using in the same context as mike mangini, I am well into the multi hat set up he has, and I play lots of prog! Are they good to gig with? |

| I use a pair of Zildjian Remix 12" hats for my main gigs. Love 'em. Really, really love 'em. I was going to pick up a pair of SRs at some point but these really do the job. |

Dude, that's awesome! I was really after the Remix hats, saw a pair on ebay around christmas time, unfortunately lost the bid :/ Special recording hats look awesome to, as do the pretty rare Mastersounds! |

| Bought some Dream Bliss 12" hats a few months back and have not used my usual 14s since. Have done quite a lot of acoustic gigs in and around London so having small hats helps reduce amount of gear to lug - they're amazingly cheap and sound great |

| gig-wise... the smaller size rases pitch, so they cut through a louder band. however being smaller, obviously they are going to be physically quieter. I have never had a problem. also they can be a lot quieter and tighter under foot... |

| Had a pair of the very long gone 10" SR hats but never got on with them, have a pair of 12" re-mix that they will have to pry from my cold dead fingers. For smaller gigs they are awesome, only major downside to them and the SR's is getting a clutch that fits/hihat stand with a low middle plastic protector si they close without the top cymbal grounding out on the seat. |

I have never experienced that on a single hihat stand yet? do you mean the clutch hitting the plastic before the cymbal? |

Stagg DH 12" hats. I have them as my auxiliary hats (on a cable hat, on my right), but love them so much I find myself using them most of the time. |

Yep, happens with all my stands, the re-mix do seem to have a very shallow profile plus all my clutches have a locking bottom so are a bit fat. The SR hats, well thy were 10's so to be expected. |

| Horses for courses! The ones I use most often nowadays are 10" Mini Hats, they suit my music well. I have played my share of extremely loud music with the biggest loudest gear I could get, but now as I lurch inexorably towards decrepitude and senility I prefer considerably more modest noise levels. Whatever suits the player and the music. |

I picked up a pair of 10" sabian AAs for a bargain on eBay. I use them as my preferred main hi hats now, really fast, tight sounding. Really cut through live. Highly recommended. Only down side to smaller hats as others have mentioned is the lack of volume when played half open.
It's funny ho you get used to the physical size of them, now when I occasionally use my 14" new beats they look enormous!! |
