...until last night.
Recently, I've felt that my life has been turned around to the point where booze would no longer be my means of escape.
So, I got myself a bottle of the alcoholic ginger beer you lot are always going on about and quaffed it slowly with a film. That was it. No maudlin thoughts, no "I need more drink!" as was the case in my late twenties but lots of "Mmm... nice tipple!" instead.
I'll take it steady but it looks like a may now be able to enjoy the odd drink without trying to kill myself.

Moderation, or rather the lack of it, was always the problem. One drink always led to many and I'd end up passed out somewhere in a pool of my own p*ss. |

Nice one Chris, I remember you telling me about how you don't drink a few years ago. Hats of to you, I imagine it was a tough decision to make. |

| It was very tough and the subject of much discussion with Mrs Prog. Hence, only one bottle purchased and no other booze in the house. |

Can't have been easy Chris. You're a lot older and more mature and responsible now (snort) so maybe having the odd tipple won't lead you astray anymore.
C'mon down to Crick for a drop of Guinness. I'll look after ya.

| Funny thing Prog, I now drink much less often, and now when I do it affects me more leaving me less able to work, so I am seriously considering stopping drinking altogether! |

| I might have another tipple at the weekend but the fact that I don't feel the need for any before then is amazing. |

| You have done amazingly well to stay off the booze for so long, and then have such a refreshing attitude to it now. I seem to be addicted to buying booze, I have several cupboards full of all sorts of wine, whiskey, cocktail mixers, but don't feel the need to have a drink very often. Sometimes I have so much, I can't get it all in the cupboards, its shocking. I have no idea why I buy it, then don't drink it for ages, but I can always offer visitors a good selection (not many people do visit though!). I've even been known to throw out out of date beer from time to time. |

Respect where it's due Prog.
I only dabble every now and again but for me these days it's quality not quantity.
Try a bottle of Conniston Bluebird. Nectar. |
