Is it a daft idea?

Actually, it probably is.

If you're talking about your brand, spanking new kit... then yes - not a good idea!

Your difficulty will be in fitting the pesky little metal grommets. This is not just a problem for Premier and I'd love to know how you do it.

You raise a valid point. The vent holes are much bigger now than on the P badges of yore.

I didn't realise Premier had changed their specs but regardless, fitting grommets without damaging the shell or badge is difficult. My experience makes me shout DONT USE THE BALL BEARING METHOD !!

There is a badge grommet fitting tool.
I've got one somewhere.

My worry would be that if the wrap has faded even slightly then unless the P badge covers it, you'll always see where the oval one was.........I hope that makes sense !

I think if you're referring to your lovely new premier jazz kit, I'd keep the oval badges anyway. I think the understated nature of the badges suits the kit and looks more classy than a load of nostalgic red P's everywhere.

It is best to leave the kit as it is I feel?

Sorry, i only glanced at it and thought it looked like a bit a of a jazzer with the vintage sparkly finish, bass drum felt and flat stands. Nice kit all the same.

I was only joking.

Granted, the sizes would tend to make people think of lighter styles of music, but it's a surprisingly powerful rock beastie. The stands are for the benefit of my back.
