Hi Everyone,

I snagged myself an olympic in polychromatic purple this evening and I've never seen one in that colour before. Does anyone have any info on how unusual it is and when it was made?

I have a scabby old royal ace which I was thinking of rewrapping but I was wondering if anyone has any premier purple wrap that would fit?

Along with the haul I got some Krut hats, a couple of Zyn crashes and a ride, some 1970s oly stands (straights, snare, hi-hat and matching bd pedal), a Premier Super Ace in white silk and a stripped 14 x 10ish Elite tom. Also I got some Rims mounts and some ajax 12 diecast hoops which I may pass on.

Good night really, now I just have to sneak it all past the wife! :-)

Any info appreciated...
Ta

I'd be interested in the hardware if for sale.... Dave (DMC) should be along soon, or you could try: www.vintageolympic.co.uk

Brilliant! Thanks Ian, thats my new kit in the mysteries section!

I'll see what the condition is on all of the hardware - was too excited when I got it to take too much notice.

Just skenning that olympic site, I picked up one of those olympic made in england badges at the NDF loast year for coppers, never seen one before, would like to fix that to a drum at some point.

Dropped the kit off in storage this morning and had a good look at it and took some photos. Overall its in pretty good condition with no fading/sun bleaching, no major knocks and only a few marks on the wrap not visible from more than a few feet away. Even the snare is in good condition with almost no pitting to the shell/rims.

Hardware is in pretty good nick with no major pitting and almost no rust. 1 of the straights has a few dents to one of the poles due to over tightening but the other straight, snare, high hat and bass pedal are really good for 25+ years old.

Overall, very pleased with this buy.
