I'm having a very frustrating time trying to fit a RIMS mount to my new vistalite tom. Two of the tension rods won't tighten, the lugs are spring-loaded with it makes it difficult to seat them in the socket and the rubber grommets in the RIMS mount make it difficult to align the rods. Any tips ??

Put a spot of washing up liquid around the grommets so they slide in their slots. You may also have to squeeze the RIMS mount in to get its holes to align.

Thanks for the advice, finally managed to get the little rascals to bite - a case where the gentle touch works over brute force.
