Not sure if anyone can help, please - I'm after some tension rods / bolts (12 needed) for a very narrow (3") vintage snare. It has no name or badge, but solid, one-piece threaded lugs.

Although the rods I need are about 4-5mm diameter, they seem to be a narrower thread than standard. I have some older slotted-head ones that fit, but as I'm restoring the snare for someone I'd like to use some new, square-headed ones.

Any ideas?
Many thanks

ST-drums is the place - they have metric rods in several sizes. Of course you will have to know the exact size before ordering - diameter + number of threads pr. cm/inch.

I TRY to tell myself I already have what I want.....

Complicated stuff!

Thanks Jon - yes, ST are usually pretty good. If I don't pick anything up sooner I'll try them.

Am probably clutching at straws here, but although I'll probably end up going back to ST drums, I thought I'd ask again:

I'm going to be in the East Midlands / North Wales on my travels with work in coming weeks - does anyone know of a likely drum shop / or anyone else that may have a stock of old / different size tension rods to rummage through? Failing that, if anyone thought they had anything that seemed likely, I could post one of the scruffy old rods that I have that do fit, just to check.

I've been naively popping into several music shops in the last couple of weeks, but most places don't even stock drums, never mind anything else! Sadly, my local drum emporium (Mark Nutty's Drumnutt shop in Swansea) seems to have closed - somewhat out of the blue.
