Bob Diamond at the Treasury Select Committee today.
Loose cannon or damp squib? Spill the beans or clam up? He's a septic and not part of the Oxbridge d:ck lickers set, so could name names and tell the truth. Er, make that just name names.
It has been suggested he took so long to resign because it took that long to negotiate his 'exit package' which could be anywhere between 15 and 30 million if the BBC are to be believed.
Thank feck for that. I thought he would get a big pay off.
You truly couldn't make this sh:t up.

And there will be another inquiry, another load of people with bad memories contradicting one another and in the end nothing will happen about it.

It's a bit like an eBay scam, only bigger. Was there ever a financial crisis?? Could it have been manufactured by the world banks and politicians?

Yeah, i thought that.. at what price world freedom, eh!?

If he knew what was going on, he should resign and if he didnt know, he should still resign, because he should have known what was going on in his own organisation. It sounds like one of those deniable operations, ie do what you must, but if it goes tits up you are on your own. Just make sure there is no trail back to senior management. Governments do it with their secret services all the time.
The thing is that even if he does go, he will go with his megabuck bonus and zillion pound pension.
Some quality jail time is what they need.

Not necessarily so.. having worked in a factory (for a multi-national) with multi-tier management, you often find that after all the s**t experienced at shop-floor level with downtime, component supply, industrial action or whatever it may be, by the time the foreman has submitted his shift report to his general foreman who tweaks it before passing it on to his superior etc-etc.. by the time the head honcho recieves it, it's smelling of roses. Often you find the guy's-with-the-ties have no idea of life at the bottom.

Latest bit of double-talk from the Ulster Bank :

"We now expect that next week (commencing 9 July) will be the final week of any significant delays for Ulster Bank customers. We expect gradual, but significant and noticeable improvements throughout the remainder of this week and next. It is our expectation that by the week of the 16 July the vast majority of customers will return to a normal service."

Christ but I hate that kind of bull5h1t "statement" that means absolutely nothing and gives no information.

I shall indeed take my overdraft elsewhere.

They're going to lose a hell of a lot of business because of this debacle. Friends and neighbours of mine, good decent working folk with their own small business, bank with the UB and are on the point of folding. We're not too badly off, we can manage for a little while, but I say again, it's an absolute disgrace.

TGLM's salary has now been credited to our account, as has my pension, but no sign of my wages from the school of music which was paid in two weeks ago today.

And on top of everything else, it's pishing down here. Feck it, I'm going out for a walk anyway.

When the rain stops, like. I'm not stupid.

I am thinking of shifting my accounts to the Co-op as each time I speak with them they are always so polite and helpful.

This is not due to my banks messing me about unless you call messing about pushing endless buttons only to end up in Manilla with an American speaking assistant as with BT or an American speaking assistant in Salt Lake City,Utah to check Barclaycard transactions are correctly destroyed all for £90 per year for a 2 minute phone call to fund his 6 wives?

Profits come well before customer care.

Shut it and whack the poxy things!
