I gigged last night at a local venue where we have played numerous times, Last night however due to the heat and climaric conditions a room which is normally very bright & with heavy reverb made my snare sound deeper than my bass and there was no discernible reverb at all
Very wierd!! |

Makes sense ! Air temperature has a significant affect on the speed of sound. As does humidity. Wouldn't have thought it would have made a huge difference, not one that noticeable anyway! Is it a big venue?
* Was there significant difference in crowd numbers to usual or not? |

55 in the band and 210 in the audience, but we have played in hot humid conditions before and it has never been as noticeable to the band, the sound out front doesn't seem to have suffered though, going on initial recordings

It's the Faser Noble Building, London Road Leicester, part of Leicester University now, but formally known as the Edward Wood Hall and used to be the main classical music venue in Leicester |

In smaller venues it's probably less, but still noticeable.
Were there more water bags in the room than normal as well?
No, all was as usual, In my previous venue the house PA measured temp & humidity and was self controlled. but at this venue not only was the difference audibly noticeable, but was opposite to what I would have expected!
