As far as I know they should be even.
Start softly and slowly, look at stick heights, they should be the same and try to be regimental in it but relaxed obviously
You could try singles using just taps and then just full strokes (look them up on Youtube) as they are used within rudiments anyway.

Yes.

A "vanilla" single stroke roll should be even, with no accents. You can, of course, add accents to a single stroke roll.

As said several times, comprehensively wrong.

If the accent is deliberate, simply stop doing it.

If it's a side effect of your left hand being weaker than your right, you have rather more work to do.

Also try the roll Accented in groups of 3.

As you improve then remove the accents while still thinking of the group of 3 (hand movements)

ie Rlr Lrl Rlr Lrl etc.

Mine is the complete opposite to ^ this moose, im right handed but end up making accents on my left rather than my right and not deliberate accents too through a single stroke roll

I think its because im trying to hard and lack control on my left, maybe

Accents should be a creative option. Sometimes loads sometimes none but always a smooth roll. I would practice with none, 1 per bar, 2 per bar and 4 per bar. Then move them onto your left. Clave patterns make great accent workouts. Use something like this as an accent pattern http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5f/Son_clave_cut-time_3-2_%26_2-3.png/350px-Son_clave_cut-time_3-2_%26_2-3.png Great for putting together soloing ideas also

You should be able to accent every, none, or any chosen note of a single stroke roll. Don't say "my single stroke roll sounds like this....". You're single stroke roll should be able to sound like whatever the music asks your single stroke roll to sound like!!!
