Federer is a bit of a monster, really - what's the thoughts on Andy M beating him?

Think he has beaten him before but if he wins he will be the next BRITISH wonder during the QUEENS JUBILEE if he loses he will be the sad Scot that just couldn't do it!

Come on Andy do it for yourself, and if you don't who gives a feck..........i don't!!!

I've been watching Murray all week and he's playing fantastic tennis. He certainly looks the part this year, more so than any other. Having Lendl in his camp seems to be paying off, but it's the mental part that worries me. Any sign of mental weakness and Federer will wipe him out.
I think it will be an epic match and if Murray can play as he's done all week and keep mentally strong, he can do it.

I think he might just pull it off, but at least he's got further than any other Brit/Scot etc has done for 74 years

And seems to have more determination than (Come on) Tim!!!!

Murrays Minge Mound will be heaving!!

Murry is playing great tennis from what I've seen/heard, Federer has also been in hot form so something has to give, hope it's Federers back
Should be a good game, hope he doesn't do the 3 sets to 0 thing again like in his other finals.

As long as Murray doesn't end up in that dark place he'll stand a chance. If he does end up there, Federer will crucify him.

I agree, if Murray keeps positive he's a chance as he's beaten him before. Roger is a legend though and will be the favourite.

If Murray wins I wonder if he'll manage a smile?

Virginia Wade won the Ladies competition during the silver jubilee jear, it would be nice if Murray could win this year. He's done well this year so far. Maybe a passing shot or two in Federer's gentleman's area might give him a better chance.

'Passing shot' sounds a little polite and genteel.
It was more like an Exocet to the Dennis Laws.

I'm hoping Federer wins this 'un. nowt against murray; they're both on excellent form and it should be an interesting game.

if he does he'll set a new record then for winning wimbledon 7 times or somesuch.

Don't you mean Ed B@lls

Federer actually can't afford to win, his dairy herd is expanding so much that he can't afford the feed bills

Well.. with Murray ranked 4 and the Fedmeister at 3. shouldn't be that much in it, really. There's something on my mind that i'd like to share with the millions reading.. but that would just be spoiling.. imo.

Let me help you with the Scots rhyming slang there: Dennis Laws = baws = balls

Shame Murray did not win but I thought he did play well. At least he took a set of Federer. Federer was playing some unbelievably good stuff, particularly the last two sets. Murray was gracious and quite "human" in defeat. Och well, not long until the Olympics Andy!

I think he went out there with the right ideas and positive attitude - a fast start, break him early, go for his backhand wherever possible. I think the rain break and roof being closed were decisive in many ways, giving Federer 30 min to rest, work on his strategy (shorten the points, run around the backhand), turned it into an indoor match, and (crucially) plant the seeds of self-doubt in Murray. He's improved that aspect of his game enormously, but it's not quite there yet. His body language was quite different after the rain break. From the chops perspective, his first serve stats sucked dead bunnies through a straw (you ain't beating Federer on second serves) and his drop shots were either ill-advised or poorly executed against a man that (still) thinks and moves as fast as Federer.

I once believed he'd never win a Wimbledon, and I no longer think that. He's certainly got the chops. The rest of it's in his head.

I said to our lass halfway through the 2nd set, winner of this one wins the match.
Unfortunately it turned out to be right.

I thought he appeared to be struggling mid-way through the 2nd Set, looking red-in-the-face as if physically spent, probably mentally too.

I did manage to predict the winner

I said the one that won most sets would win

And no penalty shoot out
