| Also, since you've put me in such a good mood, there's no attempt on your website to justify your process of shell making in terms of its sonic benefits. It's a well known fact that hollowing out a log creates an inherently unstable structure, so what's the point? |

| Thanks for your opinion.My drum shells are stable and crack free and will remain so.It`s a fact that I figured out how to keep them from being unstable.That`s the point. I stand by my craftsmanship and offer a lifetime warranty on our shells.Sonic benefits (Pure unhampered note timbre).Why so angry are you a guitarist? Turn your volume down a tad and give a re-listen with an open mind.KH |

I'm angry because I was sitting here enjoying a bit of peaceful web-browsing until I clicked the link to your site. Then I was assaulted by enough (uninvited and unexpected) volume to make anyone jump out of their skin.
The fact that I play the guitar as well as the drums doesn't seem relevent here.
Congratulations on finding a way of turning a log so it remains stable and resists splitting - that wouldn't have been particularly easy. However, being a technically challenging process doesn't mean that it will necessarily produce superior sound, does it? |

I'm curious as to why I'm not hearing any snare when I go on the website?
It's a cool idea but do they at least have a different sound to regular snares? I mean obviously no snare can be superior, but if there is a sonic quality that all solid snares have that is distinct to them, then fair enough |

Mindful of the warnings by Mully and Dogface, I turned my speakers right down but even still almost dropped my Friday evening bottle of London Pride when the sound suddenly fired up! The drums look and sound fine, but how about 4 clicks, or "1,2,3,4" before the drumming starts, just to give a bit of warning?! You really DON'T want to deprive a harassed, hard-working, Grumpy Old Git of his London Pride! |

| Sorry about the volume on the link to my site from mikedolbear.com It runs hotter on volume than my actual search link and it comes right at you.My regular link has a pause before the drumming starts.Personal volume settings are not under my control,that being said I could eliminate the opening audio or have it fade in.Thanks for the feedback, sorry again for any jumping skin or spilled drinks.KH |

This. Just put a "click for audio" button on there. The drums look great, by the way. The only other true log-style drums I've heard and played have been Spirit drums from Australia and they sounded incredible. And the shells are still intact after many years of use.

Okay so I am officially an eejit.  I read the posts warning of the noise and thought the replies must be over the top and overly sensitive as it's a drum forum after all........surely we want to hear drums?
Not like that we don't , what a bloody racket. The drum looks nice but why oh why would you have a clip like that to "sell" a drum.
Just proves that if someone warns you about something you still need to find out for yourself all the same.

Visited the site today and had no sonic violence done to me at all. Did navigate through and clicked the audio samples with great trepidation but the volume was just fine. Now listening to music over 'tinterweb can be dodgy sometimes and might well not give an accurate representation. I thought the log snare drums sounded pretty much like good snare drums and well played too. The one sample that stood out the most for me was the snares off. I thought that sounded very good. I guess there is a bit of a ready made market with existing Pearl Free Floater owners? |
