Were very popular in the 40's & 50's I believe. By no means a new invention. Saw someone using one on TV this week, but can't remember who it was.

Ludwig vintage Vistalite (Tequila Sunrise), Super Classic (Champagne sparkle), Speed King/Hercules, vintage Avedis Zildjian. Snares: Vistalite & Acrolite.

It appears to be missing the bass drum pedal to play the underside of the floor standing drum, which most cocktail drum kits have. But usually cocktail kits are played while standing and this kit looks too low for that, so would probably need to be seated to play this kit.

The drums look too big to be a proper cocktail kit...
They just look like normal toms with a smaller snare...

Millennium 14x14 floor tom with 10x9 tom and 10x5 metal snare plus cymbal arm, all mounted on floor tom and a lightweight hi hat stand. Most bass drum pedals will reverse and, if they have a base plate, will work fine. It's the same idea as the Slingerland Expresso or the earlier Rogers Parklane/Astoria. It has decent (Evans) heads and actually sounds great.

Canopus Club, Paiste 602 and, occasionally, a Highwood cocktail kit.
