Mal Garrett at Birmingham Conservatoire if you're in the Midlands. In London, Bob Armstrong.

Isn't that close enough?

Doesn't look like the location is that important from the first post...

I would certainly class Bob/Romford as London! And I'd also agree that location is irrelevant - if you want to learn Moeller technique properly, go to Bob Armstrong. I don't care if you have to travel from London, Midlands or the Middle East. Worth every mile of the trip for his gold.

It was a bit of an unneccisary point to make Tim, seeing as though Romford is all of 2 and a half minutes from areas that would be classed as London!

For those that do not know, the new London boundary stretches as far as you can physically push a Tubby Isaac's Jellied Eel Stall from Bow into Essex.

You should go to the best, not the most convenient as you will only benefit in the long run.

Shut it and whack the poxy things!

Go to Bob Armstrong...er.. Unless he's moved recently, in Hornchurch if we're being pedantic.

I used to drive from Skegness for a 10.00 am lesson, (Only time he had available, and that was after a 6 month spell on the waiting list.)

Best money I ever spent.

He has moved - Romford city center last time I was with him - unless he's moved in the last 48 hours

Jeff Lardner, Nice guy!

It was Jeff who got me in with Bob.

In those days, late 90's, Bob didn't have a website and was ex-directory. Jeff was with the BBC big band guesting on a cruise ship I was playing on. I was asking him about some stuff he was doing, he did show me, but he also gave me Bob's number. The rest is history, (and geography apparently. )

I think you'll find Bob's Moeller to be fairly "true" and "traditional" also!

Mal Garrett in Brum, no need to go to London. Mal studied with Chapin as a personal friend for 20 something years or more. I hear Bob's top too, but don't know him.

Any idea how to contact Mal Garrett, I can't find a website or email address. Not had any success through the conservatoire due to "data protection".
