Not Ebay exactly, but I saw a Peavey kit on Gumtree for £25 this week and starter kits seem to be popping up all over the place for under £100. Are prices collapsing at the bottom end of the market? I am clearing 2 elderly bass drum cases (Spaaulding Russell 20 and 22) and had little interest on Gumtree, not worth putting on Ebay. Seems wasteful to dump them. OK even for spare/storage. If anyone wants to collect them in Hove you can have 'em for free (or a beer token). Not selling on the forum!

I think I've spotted a teeny clue in the "If anyone wants to collect them in Hove" part of his post.

Yeah Hove is next to Brighton. The 22" is in blue and very usable, just needs a new buckle on the strap, which is tied in a knot for now.

hmm. Maybe I should not be so quick to jump on the thought of free gear and actually read the bits that matter

Other end of the country, bit of a trek for a drum case.

Looks like they'll be off to the recycling centre...

Surely it wouldn't cost a fortune to have it sent. I know some couriers have size restrictions but it should be possible to find one that will take a case at a reasonable cost. Just seems a shame to dump them.
I already have (more than) enough bass drum cases.

Put some holes in them and use them for potato barrels to grow your own.

Good point, but the last thing I sent using Yodel (via Interparcel) took a week waiting in, so I am not very happy with couriers right now.
