I once enquired out of curiousity via Axl Rose's office about getting him to do a personal performance at a wedding. I actually got a reply, saying his fee would be a "non-refundable deposit of $5million". Which of course would be money down the toilet, but well if I had £148m, I would definitely pay it, just in case he did show.
Now though I would rather pay Slash and his band twice that for a personal performance. They play the guns songs far better than Axl's tribute band ever could.
If he uses common sense he should get Slash as he's a nice bloke and use his Snakepit.
$5Million is way over the top for an act that can't produce the goods. He wouldn't get anywhere near that figure from any promoter that I know, more like $200K.
A friend of mine whacked him on tour for just being him.He was warned once and took no heed.
If a guitar tech from another band says 'Don't touch my guitars' listen very carefully or you'll get whacked.
