Hello here is something you do not see everyday(drum porn), this is my original Oyster wrap Premier kit in the same sizes Mitch Mitchell played in 1966-1967. Mitch Mitchell recorded the 1st Jimi Hendrix LP(Are You Experienced)and the 1st 2 Jimi Hendrix singles (Hey Joe / Purple Haze) using his Premier drums. The sizes needed for a true Mitch kit is 20 14 14 16, a couple of drums here are hard to locate in this colour. The 14x14 and 14x8 in oyster wrap are rare drums (the 14x14 being super rare). The Premier oyster wrap snare is a wood 1967 2000 and is also very hard to locate in this colour. This is a super condition set and sounds wonderful, no drums are re wraped. I normally use the set with a 1960`s Ludwig 400 and with a 1950`s 20" paper thin K / 1960`s 18" thin K / 20" thin A Zildjain cymbals as seen in the photos. I think all the original premier hardwear makes her look sweet and I love the old Premier stands and use them all the time, but I do use a morden bass drum pedal as them old 250 Premier ones are very slow but looks cool in the photos. I hope you like the photos and lots of love from Mr Toad.

Update thanks for looking people and all your kind words I wish I joined this site ages ago there is some real nice people on here, I am very sorry but I will not sell this kit.

Oh I should of said R.I.P Mitch , an influence for many of us, the day I purchases the 1st Are You Experienced LP when I was a kid and wanting to do my fills like that (a lesson in 6 stroke rolls).

Thats great Toad my man!!
Makes me wanna get my Oyster wrap 73'ish kit out from under the shelves and take some picks!!

Now these are my sizes and rather a strange combo!!

22x14", 16x15", 12x8", and 14x10" Yes 14x10"!!!!!
It had a metal shell 2000 SD with it. Just needs a good polish and its a keeper and a player.
Yep I'll try for some pics in cpl o days.

I could easily be wrong, but I've only seen the oval tom mount and associated parts as later mods on anything old enough to have the Oyster wrap. There again, I've never seen a 14x10 tom either!

I thought the Oyster finished very early 70s and the oval post came in mid-late 70s onwards.

...although Premier always seem to come up with "transitional" oddities.

I'm sure you can tell if you have factory originals and can stand me corrected...

A special order - or a drum that had been coated but not fitted with hardware - and latter done up?

"Anyway, we canīt sell that uncool wrap `ere - letīs send it to Australia, they possibly wonīt know itīs out of fashion"?

Very nice anyway!

14x10" toms are not very uncommon besides a 13x9", I think?

Wrong tom mount. Otherwise, looks excellent.
Mitchell never played a 14x10.

founder-don't convert the 14x8 tom to a snare!

Really, wrong mount, huh? You obviously have'nt been paying attention?? Premier would construct a kit with whatever they had hanging around at the time!! Annnnnnnnnnnnnd! especially in the year of "transition" ie: hardware model changes.
NOW sit up straight!! put those drumsticks down and LISTEN!!
PAY ATTENTION

Cool. I allways presumed that Mitch used a bigger bass drum. Was his kit birch, and is yours too?

No, premier was 1" shorter than the Usa made 16" floor toms at this time the shells was 16x15, or they made a 16x18 long tom, I also have one of these in oyster wrap. Premier never made a 13" tom to the early 70`s so all 60`s kits came with a 12 or 14 on the top, thanks John
