Learn to Play Day 2017: This Weekend, 24th, 25th June!

With only four days to go to Learn to Play Day 2017 thousands of FREE music lessonsare being booked up across the country. Check venues near you now. Here are just a few of the amazing events you could be involved with: –

Yamaha Music London  with Nina Schofield will be holding FREE live music workshops for 8-15 years olds at their store in Wardour Street, Soho, London. Nina, the newest Music for All Ambassador also recently wrote the Learn to Play Day Anthem, specially commissioned by Yamaha.

Musicroom shops are offering FREE music lessons on a range of instruments including guitar, piano, ukulele, drums and pBuzz. There will also be special guest appearances, in store competitions and the open mic sessions. The Edinburgh store has created ‘Fleetwood Macintosh’ for the day.

Sounds Great Music, Cheadle has FREE lessons on offer for guitar, bass, piano, ukulele, saxophone, clarinet and flute, plus a FREE re-stringing service and a FREEraffle to win a James Neligan acoustic guitar! Elvis will also be in the building!

PMT stores throughout the UK are encouraging everyone and anyone to take their first steps to becoming a musician. Ash Soan, award winning drummer who has worked with Adele, Robbie Williams and many more will be appearing at PMT Norwich on Saturday 24th and Kaleb Rose, face of Roland Boss and guitarist with Never The Bride will be at PMT Oxford.

Roland ‘Planets’ have arranged for participating stores to provide workshops on how technology can help when learning an instrument.

Korg are holding their event at The Stables MK where there will be a chance to win a TM50 Tuner /Metronome. While in MK check out Music Kavern’s event at Xscape with the Music Co-op teachers. Plus Rhythm Room will be at Togfest 2017 offering FREElessons at the festival.

The Warwick Music Group, Coventry, is on a mission to get as many people as possible to pick up an instrument for the first time. Forsyths in Manchester are looking forward to another fun weekend offering a wide range of instrument lessons. Dawkes Music in Maidenhead are offering flute clarinet and saxophone lessons. They will be joined by the Sforzando Sax Ensemble from South Berks Concert Band and the My Music Adult Ensemble. Foundry Studios, owned by Soundbytes Media will be working with BrassExoffering opportunities to come and try instruments. Medway Drum Studio will be celebrating its fourth learn to Play Day and as well as opening its doors for the weekend it will also be offering four one day workshops to school across Medway. Other organisations taking part are Garforth BrassMusic Mark and Harp on Wight.
